“Merican Motors” is a collection portraying the state of the hard hit American Auto Manufacturing Industry, through visions of once powerful machines to now long forgotten, rusted, and abandoned cars and trucks. These images have been digitally enhanced and artistically manipulated to bring out through the rust and pitted chrome the splendor of days gone by. This series also introduces us to Naideau’s experimentation of producing his prints on metal substrates. The entire “Merican Motors” collection is printed on ¼ inch brushed aluminum which brings the remains of chipped paint and rusted chrome to life and suggests a three dimensional aspect to the two dimensional image.
